What to Expect on Day One: A Walkthrough of a Typical Welcome at Villamediana de Lomas

Table of Contents

The first day at camp is full of emotions, excitement, curiosity, and sometimes a few nerves. That’s why at My Spanish Camps, we’ve carefully designed Day One to help both campers and families feel calm, confident, and welcomed from the very first moment.

Two Ways to Arrive at Camp

There are two arrival options, depending on each family’s needs.

Some campers arrive via airport transfer. In this case, a responsible member of our team is waiting at the airport to welcome them and accompany them safely to the campsite in Villamediana de Lomas. From the very beginning, children are supported, guided, and cared for.

The second option is direct arrival at camp with families. Families are welcomed at the campsite entrance from 5:00 pm, when our team begins receiving campers.

Arrival, Registration, and Goodbyes

Upon arrival, families are welcomed by our staff, who register each camper, collect important documentation, and receive any medication that needs to be administered during the week, always following each family’s instructions carefully.

After registration, children have time to say goodbye to their families and meet the counselors who will be taking care of them throughout the program. Our team is there to make this transition as smooth and positive as possible.

Once campers enter the campsite, parents can leave knowing their children are in safe hands. Campers enjoy guided activities while the rest of the group arrives, starting to connect with counselors and peers.

Welcome, Groups, and First Connections

When all campers have arrived, the program coordinator gives a short welcome talk, explaining how the camp works, daily routines, and basic rules.

Campers are then divided into their reference groups, each led by their assigned counselors. Together, they tour the campsite to learn where everything is and begin bonding through group activities designed to create trust and connection. Our counselors are specialists in encouraging these first interactions so that children feel integrated quickly.

Settling In and the First Night

After leaving luggage in their bedrooms, campers head to dinner, where the atmosphere is lively, welcoming, and full of excitement. The evening ends with a special presentation show led by the counselors, offering playful hints of what the week will bring.

After such a full day, it’s time for bed. A good rest is essential because there’s so much to discover in the days ahead.

From the very first moment, every child is supported, guided, and welcomed into the My Spanish Camps family, so if you are already wishing to be a part of our community you can reach out to explore our options.
